Harrop Elocker

Harrop have developed the Harrop ELocker utilising the latest in Eaton technology, the ultimate choice in selectable locking differentials, giving maximum traction at a push of a button. 

Unlike open differentials or limited slip systems Harrop ELocker can be selected as needed to lock the axles – directing drive power to both wheels across the axle. Even when only one wheel has contact, Harrop ELockers deliver torque and traction on demand. The unit performs as an open differential until you decide that you need more traction. At the flick of a button the Harrop ELocker performs as a full locker, capturing 100% of the available torque and sending it equally to both ends of the axle.

The Harrop ELocker utilises an electromagnetic locking mechanism, doing away with the need to run a compressor or airlines. Thus eliminating plastic/ rubber seals and airlines giving strength and durability. Its strength was proven when it was fitted to a purpose-built test rig designed to generate the stress of the most extreme off-road conditions. The axles reached failure point before the ELocker did, at an astonishing 10,025 Newton metres of pinion input torque.
